Words Instead of walk

How a character moves tells the reader who they are. "Walk" wastes that signal. Every gait implies a different mood, personality, or intention.

Writing tip

Pick the verb that encodes the emotion: "trudged" implies exhaustion or reluctance; "sauntered" implies confidence; "skulked" implies guilt.
